Concept4 to Develop Student Resource App for Leeds City College
Concept4 are delighted to be working with Leeds City College to develop a feature-rich student based app. The app will be designed to provide students “on the go” with daily news updates, event alerts and invitations, campus maps with filters for facilities and much more. Concept4 met Leeds City College at the BETT (British Educational Training and Technology) show in 2012. The aim is to develop a multi-platform tool that provides relevant, engaging and useful daily content that can be updated easily and regularly by the college.
Currently apart from generic news, information and events applications little in the way of bespoke College apps is available within the UK. Whilst of a good standard these apps can be dramatically improved on. As such Leeds City College have an opportunity to develop a market leading mobile application and benefit from both PR coverage plus demonstrate a “forward thinking” outlook to the College’s current and potential digital community.
Howard Browes, Head of Learning Innovation & Student Progress at the College commented “In selecting Concept4, we looked at a number of developers, and were impressed by both the customer service and innovative thoughts to the design and possible uses of the App. Concept4 have suggested ways which would differentiate the Leeds City College App from competitor products/developments, providing enhanced functionality that makes the App unique in the way the College wishes to communicate with students. Concept4 are able to deliver the product to an extremely tight timescale, and have the necessary experience to successfully project manage the development, which necessitates working with a large number of internal stakeholders. We are confident that the Leeds City College App developed by Concept4 will be a huge benefit to our students, and further demonstrate our innovative approach to the use of new and emerging technologies”.
