Running On Empty

Our Account Director Mohsin has recently taken on a triathlon challenge, along with other members of his family, to raise funds to educate girls in Pakistan as part of his latest Ramadan charity activity. Mo himself swam 750 metres, cycled 20 kilometres and then ran 5 kilometres all while fasting for Ramadan!

HELPING TO EDUCATE

Together with his wife Sabbiyah and children Daaniya, Yahya and Imaan, Mo is raising funds for impoverished girls in Pakistan who are otherwise unlikely to get an education. Poverty levels in some areas of Pakistan mean families have little money to spend on basic provisions and thus the education of their daughters, which is not state funded, is often neglected. Mo’s fundraising plan was to help two girls in particular in Jhelum. Preparation and training has been tough but this is a great cause to work for.

A GREAT RESULT

The training was clearly needed too as social media footage showed Mo and family had integrated a particularly nasty looking hill into their cycling and running circuit. Despite the hill Mo recorded a very impressive time of 2 hours 19 minutes. He was pleased with this time but was even more thrilled with the amount raised. Now Mo does not usually like to be compared to the quite famous athlete also called Mo. However, I can confirm officially that of the two, our Mo and the Olympic champion, it is our Mo who has the fastest time running up this particular hill in Bradford!  Mo and family have generated an amazing £2745 through their GoFundMe page meaning they can extend their educational support to help four girls rather than two. A fantastic family effort. Well done.
