East Lancashire Hospitals NHS TrustStop Smoking Campaign
We were delighted to be selected to work on the Stop Smoking campaign for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. Each of their five locations had reported problems with smokers and their lingering smoke near entrances on cigarette breaks. The Trust wanted to create a campaign to make patients and staff aware of the harm their second-hand smoke was causing to others.
The campaign focuses on the affects of second-hand smoke and how it can harm the health and wellbeing of different people. Facts about second-hand smoke are used alongside carefully selected photography which highlights the damage it can cause to vulnerable members of society.
We created external signage for a clear and strong message to pedestrians and drivers entering each location; these signs are colourful and stand out. Large posters are also placed on building exteriors with various members of the public saying "we don’t want your smoke!". The posters create a high impact on entering buildings with negative images of smoke lingering around the most vulnerable people. Further posters placed internally throughout all locations include factual information making people aware of their actions when smoking on hospital grounds.
