
Richmond and Hillcroft Adult and Community College (RHACC) is one of just nine institutes of adult learning in the UK. It has a commitment to provide adults educational opportunities to develop their skills, to help them thrive and to achieve their personal, creative or professional goals.

RHACC needed a highly developed website to engage prospective learners and partners, to integrate with Civica College Management (formerly REMS) and provide a seamless pathway to online course enrolment and fee payments. While the college had strong foundations, its digital experience was quite fragmented. In a rigorous website pitch process, we had clearly demonstrated our understanding of search functionality and the technical skills required to create seamless connections with third party systems.
Initially, a strategic discovery phase helped us to understand user needs, internal processes and system capabilities. This identified some key inefficiencies across the enrolment journey, particularly around content, search and system integration. We defined a clear digital transformation roadmap focused on simplifying the learner journey. This was supported by a new content approach along with much improved information architecture.
The new WordPress website provide a modern, future proof solution which allowed for full integration with the course feed from Civica College Management. Subject areas were rationalised and streamlined then enhanced by new optimised course content. The site is vibrant, supportive and welcoming. In addition, an overhauled enrolment process polishes the overall website experience. Significantly the user journey has been significantly transformed.

Live in March 2026, clear menus and considered calls to action have helped users find where they need to go. The college can also craft campaign landing pages with custom course lists aligned with social media activity. This, combined with solid SEO foundations, has seen both website traffic and course enquiries increase significantly straight away. In the first month since launch, for example, the total number of active website users was up 133%.
