Concept4 giving back to the community

Over the last year three members of the Concept4 team have managed to make a great contribution to the wider community and the efforts to combat the impact of Coronavirus.

Mohsin, one of our sales directors, spent April this year doing the Ramadan Challenge for the Bradford Crisis Fund. This helps vulnerable families in Mo’s home City who are struggling more than normal with the additional impact of COVID and lockdowns. Ramadan is typically a time for giving back so Mo and family were keen to get involved. This involved Mo running 100km during the month and his family spending time cleaning up litter in areas of the City. Mo is no stranger to running around and keeping things nice and tidy when working with customers on projects like school websites or prospectuses. In the end his family raised an amazing £1,400 which Mo was over the moon with.

Andrew, one of our senior web developers, has spent the pandemic volunteering as part of the NHS community response team. This involves calling people who are self-isolating, having a chat to see if they are okay and practical things like doing their shopping or collecting prescriptions. Andrew has enjoyed checking in with people, getting to know them and hearing lots of interesting stories over the period. Here at Concept4 he would normally be checking website code to ensure customer websites perform efficiently. He is still providing community support, currently volunteering at his local vaccination centre and has found the whole process very rewarding, including allowing himself to stay active, positive and engage with others.

Jane, our Managing Director, has been volunteering as a data inputter at the weekends at her local vaccine hub in Skipton. She often spends her Saturday with the team at the Wharfedale, Airedale and Craven Alliance which includes many previously retired GPs. The role is mainly logging information but can also involve cleaning, reception and car park duties. Earlier in the pandemic she joined the Skipton Step Into Action team volunteering locally to provide support similar to Andrew. Jane felt it was important to get involved, appropriately leading with way. She has also felt good playing a small part in the impressive national vaccination roll-out.

As we edge closer to a return to normality it is nice to reflect on some positive elements of the pandemic. A really great effort by the three of them in the strangest of years. Well done Mo, Andrew and Jane. Communities need people like this and it is encouraging to see members of the Concept4 team going above and beyond in this period of crisis.
